Ammonites & Seafoam Shawl - Printed pattern

£5.50
Tax included

Hiya, I’m Michelle, I am an Indie Dyer and knitting-crochet designer based in

Tonypandy. Thank you for choosing this pattern to work with. It is the product of many

months of design, test knitting and redesign. I’m really pleased with the results.

This delicate shawl has a triangular, wingspan shape. Worked from the top down, and

from the centre out wards the work moves quickly, which is very satisfying.

Initially you will use a garter tab cast on, you will then increase on every right side row

at the centre spine and border edges.

The central lace work is inspired by the shape of the ammonite fossils found

on our local coastline.

The central lace work is inspired by the shape of the ammonite fossils found

on our local coastline. The discovery of these beautiful fossils is made possible by the

power of the waves that pummel our shores, this power and movement inspires the lace

detail on the border of the shawl.

The yarn suggested has been hand dyed by myself. The techniques I use give a tonal

effect which gives a subtle variation to the hues of the main colour. The blend of Merino

and nylon works well to give a lovely drape, whilst maintaining a good durability. I

particularly like how the turquoise reflects the movement seen in the waters at Ogmore

by Sea on a bright, crisp, sunny, Spring afternoon. The pattern also works well with a

variegated yarn, such as my ‘Pollack’ colourways.

If you are charged excess postage for this item by my store I will refund it.
