I wanted to design a pattern that could be made for anyone one in the knitters family. I often like patterns that can be unisex and usually want to make more than one of something that I have just mastered, plus I love a bargain so if I’m purchasing a pattern I will often make one for each member of my family.
I live in the South Wales Valleys, here, almost every problem can be solved with a big cwtch, a particularly comforting hug. My eldest two children are flying the nest and I wanted to send them out with a big cwtch to keep them company as they forge their adult lives without me. My youngest two children love to imitate their big brother and sister so they also wanted me to make them a Cwtch Me Close Cowl. How could I refuse!

The pattern is a tested version which came joint first in the ArtesanityRavelry ’One skein designer challenge’ vote I want you to be able to make it in any weight yarn you have available to you. Instructions are for sockweight/Double knit and aran, I have made it in a chunky by decreasing the cast on to 72 sts.
